Prolific biographer Andrew Lownie is known for investigations that challenge official narratives and open up uncomfortable truths. Here, he discusses Entitled, his most explosive and rigorously researched book to date, examining one of the most dramatic royal sagas of the modern era.

Drawing on revelatory new material, Lownie traces the story of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson from their early lives and whirlwind courtship through marriage, divorce and public collapse, revealing how privilege, personal failings and institutional power became fatally entwined. Meticulous, unsettling and rich in detail, Entitled offers a portrait of a monarchy under strain and a story that has profoundly shaped public attitudes in the twentyfirst century.

Lownie is in conversation with Festival Chair Lucy Cotter, exploring the risks and resistance faced by modern biographers, the ethics of telling contested histories, and why this story continues to provoke fascination and debate.
