Join a sauntering poetry walk/recital
with Sharon Champion who will be returning to her roots in Sand Street, St. Helier and its neighbourhood.
Meeting outside The Threadneedle pub on Seaton Place we will wend our way, stopping at places held dear to her during the 1950s to the 1970s.
Fond memories of family, a community of colourful characters,
old shops and pubs are relived, a bygone time when children played out in an earthy world, soaking up street life in all its fascination.
Long live Sand Street.

Sharon Champion was born and educated in Jersey. She has enjoyed writing since childhood and turned prose into poetry when she joined a writing group formed by the late Linda Rose Parkes. Linda encouraged the poets to read their work publicly and a seed of an idea came to fruition on recently meeting American poet and editor Traci O’Dea, hence her debut collection Multistory was born. Sharon weaves writing in between family and friends, realising life isn’t in the way, but is the way.
