O Romance do Grande Gatão / The Great Pussycat

Meet acclaimed Portuguese author Lídia Jorge for a lively storytelling session based on The Great Pussycat, a heartwarming tale of a cat shared between two families from different cultures. Through story, conversation and questions from pupils, this special event explores friendship, belonging and the power of imagination, while offering a unique opportunity to meet one of Portugal’s most distinguished contemporary writers. Pupils will also discover how the story inspired an orchestral work by Portuguese composer Sérgio Azevedo, in which the clarinet brings to life the playful and conflicted character of the Great Pussycat, revealing how stories can be transformed through music.
