Setara Pracha

The Misty Moors of Daphne du Maurier and the Brontës

  • Jersey Library

  • Free

  • Wednesday 23 September

    19:00 - 20:00

The moors of Yorkshire and Cornwall are geographically far apart, but Dr Setara Pracha reveals links between the landscapes of du Maurier’s novel of ship-wreckers – Jamaica Inn – and Emily Brontës’ eternally WutheringHeights. As part of her research for the Daphne du Maurier Handbook (coming 2027, OUP), Setara invites you to join her for an evening of gothic locations, exploring the ‘infernal’ world of Cathy and Heathcliff and misty Bodmin Moor, the setting for Jamaica Inn.
