With at least five original plays broadcast every week, BBC Radio 4 provides a unique opportunity for new and established writers to get their work heard. But writing radio scripts offers more than just this. Leaning heavily, as it does, on character interaction, it’s great way for writers of all formats and genres to hone their dialogue – not to mention audio descriptions and plotting skills. Can you tell your story in 45 minutes of just character conversation? In this interactive workshop session, writer and academic Dr Dean Conrad shares some thoughts about how crafting scripts for radio can add a new dimensions and essential disciplines to all of your creative writing work.
