Festival Info

Jersey Festival of Words is a vibrant celebration of literature, storytelling, and the spoken word, held annually across the island of Jersey. Since its inception in 2015, the festival has grown into a dynamic nine-day event, bringing together internationally acclaimed authors, poets, performers, and local talent to inspire audiences of all ages. This year’s festival is scheduled to take place from 19 to 28 September 2025.
Hosted at venues including the Jersey Arts Centre, Jersey Library, and the Freedom Centre, the festival offers a diverse programme featuring readings, performances, workshops, and panel discussions. A cornerstone of the festival is its Schools Programme, which engages thousands of local students through interactive events, author visits, and performances.
The festival also hosts an annual writing competition, with winning entries published in the Jersey Evening Post during the festival.
Organised by the Jersey Literary Festival Association, a registered charity, the festival embodies a community-driven spirit, aiming to foster a love for literature and the arts across the island.
