...to the Jersey Festival of Words. Now in its sixth year, this five-day literary event aims to promote a love of the written and spoken word across the community and in a variety of styles and settings.
As well as events from visiting and local authors, the festival features competitions, community events and a full schools programme.
For an update on this year's festival, please see the statement below.
*** FESTIVAL OF WORDS 2020 CANCELLED ***
Afraid so! Given social distancing requirements, travel restrictions and future uncertainty surrounding the Coronavirus pandemic we've had little choice but to put this year’s Jersey Festival of Words on hold.
The decision was reached after much consideration and consultation with the festival’s partner venues.
Obviously we’re disappointed as this year’s line-up was looking particularly strong, though we’re pleased to have had some authors confirming that they are willing to attend next year’s festival instead.
We’re also extremely grateful to our various sponsors for their understanding, many of whom have agreed to extend their support of the Festival of Words to when we return in September 2021.
In the mean time, we'll be doing our best to support our community however we can, via competitions (our Poetry Competition is now live) , promotions and perhaps the occasional smaller event. Thanks as ever to all the friends, writers, attendees and supporters that make JFOW possible, and here's to a cracking festival upon our return in 2021!
