Jersey Festival of Words seeks Deputy Festival Director

Books

Do you want to be part of one of Jersey’s leading cultural events?

From bestselling authors and headline interviews to schools programmes, community outreach, poetry, performance and powerful conversations, Jersey Festival of Words celebrates creativity, curiosity and community.

Having celebrated our 10th anniversary last year, we are now looking ahead to the next decade and seeking a dynamic, creative and highly organised Deputy Festival Director to help shape the future of the Festival.

Working closely with the Festival Director and Board, you will play a central role in developing and delivering our ambitious annual programme, supporting relationships with authors, publishers, schools, partners, sponsors and audiences. This is a varied and hands-on role in a small, passionate team where no two days are the same.

One day you might be liaising with an author’s agent, the next coordinating a schools event, developing partnerships, supporting fundraising activity or helping deliver an unforgettable evening event.

This is not a standard 9 to 5 role and requires flexibility and a willingness to work beyond regular hours during peak periods or in support of key events. Much of the work will be home-based, though you will be required to attend monthly meetings with the Festival Board.

We’re looking for someone with excellent communication and project management skills, strong cultural awareness, creativity, energy and a genuine enthusiasm for literature, ideas and community engagement.

This is an exciting opportunity to help lead one of Jersey’s most loved cultural festivals at a pivotal moment in its development.

For further information or a discussion about the role please email [email protected], attaching a full CV detailing your relevant experience and background.
