ORDINARY TIME
Join Festival Patron Cathy Rentzenbrink as she discusses her latest novel, Ordinary Time with Festival regular Andrew Davey.
Protagonist Ann is a reluctant vicar’s wife who refuses to succumb to the traditional duties such as remaining quiet in church and baking scones. She subsequently finds herself meeting Jamie on a trip from Cornwall up to London and her world is suddenly opened up and turned upside down.
This book forces the reader to face up to the truly important questions around friendship, marriage, forgiveness and redemption whilst empathising with the honesty of character. Most importantly, this novel will leave you mesmerised as it questions what the true meaning of love is. Ordinary Time promises to conjure laughs as well as tears, harnessing the joys and sorrows of everyday life.
Cathy Rentzenbrink is the author of the novel Everyone Is Still Alive and several acclaimed works of non-fiction including the Sunday Times Bestseller The Last Act of Love. She is a regular book reviewer and an experienced chair of literary events. Cathy is also the President of Budleigh Salterton Festival.
